Updated: Apr 13
Fragrance or perfumes have the power to influence our emotions and mood because the part of the brain which processes scents also processes our memories. This explains why certain smells and scents have the ability to send us to a different place and time. Today. let's look at the best Chopard fragrances you should buy.
Chopard is a Swiss watchmaker and jewellery house founded by Louis-Ulysse Chopard in 1860. Founded in the small Swiss village of Sonvillier, Chopard's initial focus was on precision timepieces, in the Swiss tradition. Later, Chopard expanded to fragrances.

Happy Chopard Lemon Dulci Chopard
Happy Chopard Lemon Dulci by Chopard is a Citrus fragrance for women. Happy Chopard Lemon Dulci was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Dora Baghriche. Top notes are Lemon, Mandarin Orange, Bergamot, Shiso and Ginger; middle notes are Mango, Apple, Orange Blossom and Cucumber; base notes are Mint and Woody Notes.
Happy Chopard Lemon Dulci is announced as an extraordinary refreshing fragrance that lifts up your energy level with citrus zest and leaves. Antidepressants of nature, citrus oils that make you happier, are mixed with apple, ginger and green leaf, as well as a juicy combination of orange blossom, mango and cucumber.
For me, it opens with sweet, fruity lemon, accompanied by the mint. Probably the sweetness is achieved by mandarin. During the drydown it becomes a deep, sweet lemon. I couldn't pick up individual notes, but the perfume's character completely changes. This is subjective... but in this phase, the word that came to mind was "silly". It feels silly and unserious. Something to remind you not to care about life!
Chopard Oud Malaki
Chopard Oud Malaki is a Woody Spicy fragrance for men. Chopard Oud Malaki was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is Dominique Ropion. Top notes are Grapefruit, Lavender and Artemisia; middle notes are Tobacco, Spices and Leather; base notes are Agarwood (Oud), dark woodsy notes and Ambergris. It is inspired by the Orient and contains dark and seductive spices, leather and dark wood.
Chopard Oud Malaki is the true hidden gem. Such a good tobacco spicy oud fragrance. I get the smooth tobacco mix with warm spicy and a little grapefruit (very little) in the opening then in oud come in drydown while tobacco still in the background.
Chopard Oud Makali is a very pleasant and beautiful scent, although it's a bit old (2012) it feels like it is timeless. I tend to think that this is the predecessor to the current black incense malaki. Anyway, let's get right into it. Although this fragrance is aimed at men, it is still a unisex perfume.
This is most suitable with a middle-eastern complexion (olive skin I think its called), it suits men/women 35+. Its an elegant fragrance, so it requires some fashion to it, smart casual, semi-formal, formal works best, casual stuff do work, but not the usual casual if you know what I mean (this is a unique scent in its own merits). (shorts and t-shirts is a big NO) but nice jeans with boots and a good cardigan or leather jacket is a WOW. Longevity can last you 6 hours.
Chopard Amber Malaki
Chopard Amber Malaki is an Oriental fragrance for both women and men. Chopard Amber Malaki was launched in 2015. Chopard Amber Malaki starts quite sweet and ambery, almost syrupy like a drink of vimto. As it dries down, the sweetness dials down & more beautiful incense comes out but only hours (>3) after application.
It reminds me of Van Cleef & Arpel's Ambre Imperial, both are sweet ambers that rely on amber/vanilla combo to create the scent. Although, I personally prefer Ambre Imperial. Like Chopard Rose Malaki, I had higher exceptions from this. Nonetheless, it remains a decent scent. Longevity can last you 8 hours and is a unisex fragrance.
In short, once the perfume sprays on your skin, the scents might different from the opening and different from another person as the perfume scents react differently in different skin type. So which one is your favourite?
