Best Lipstick Brands 2021
Updated: Apr 13
Taylor Swift has often credited her signature lips to Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Hot, a cherry-red shade of lipstick. What you wear on your lips can have a great impact on your look. Whether it’s a bold red lipstick, a juicy gloss or even a comfy tinted balm, a new lip product is the easiest way to switch up your look. So, let's show you the best lipstick brands in 2021!
Tom Ford Beauty Casablanca
Tom Ford Beauty Casablanca is a deep pink with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had rich colour coverage with a smooth, creamy texture that wasn't too thick or too thin, so it helped to smooth out my lip texture a bit but didn't settle into my lip lines noticeably. It has a balmy feeling on the lips, it's a satin finish but after hours it's quite matte, not drying at all. Also even if it's not a liquid lipstick the staying power is really great, even more, if you put a lip liner underneath. The shade is not overpowering but lasts all night even after dinner and drink! It’s very moisturizing on your lips. The lipstick is cute and pretty to carry.
Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge - 999 Ultra Dior Lipstick
The Dior signature red, "999 Ultra Dior" is a bright true red. Just like "641 Ultra Spice", the colour is super rich and pigmented. The shade, as usual, is phenomenal, the packaging is very luxe and the formula is very smooth. Classic red glides on smoothly. This is how I describe this 999 Ultra Dior colour. The shade is not overpowering but also last for the whole day. It goes well with any skin colour. Wasn’t drying on the lips either. The lipstick had a very lightweight, velvety consistency that glided easily over my lips and felt comfortable to wear as well.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture “The Slim”
The ultimate matte lipstick, Rouge Pur Couture “The Slim” by YSL saturates lips with ultra-rich, high-pigmented matte colour that feels weightless and incredibly comfortable on the lips. The non-drying, creamy formula glides on effortlessly and stays put all day so you don’t ever have to worry about bleeding, cracking or reapplying. I would recommend 14 Rose Curieux shade as this colour just nice and those who prefer something not bold red should try 14 Rose Curieux.
Inspired by the colour intensity and matteness of leather, YSL has developed this luxurious lipstick that, with a high concentration of colour pigments, leaves the lips with a glamorous and intense colour and a nice matte look - without looking dry!
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet
The Rouge Allure Velvet formula is supposed to be a "non-drying matte lipstick" with "intensely rich, long-wearing colour" and has a "velvet matte finish." Over time, I felt like the formula has improved and is actually non-drying (the original launch did not wear well on me) to lightly drying (seen more in shades that have lasted six to eight hours).
This is similar to Bobbi Brown's Luxe Lip in Pink Guava, although slightly more muted. It has a satin finish that looks matte over time. For lipstick, it doesn't transfer as much as other formulas. I love how the bullet has to be pushed down to pull out of the cap. Prevents my lipstick from accidentally getting uncapped or twisting the bullet into the cap.
Buying the right lipstick can be very hard especially when you want the best you can get. So, which one is your favourite lipstick and what you prefer? Bold red shade or pink matte or you prefer something hydrating and shinning?
