Hotel Review: Grand Hyatt Melbourne
Grand Hyatt Melbourne is a luxurious hotel and located in a quiet but convenient downtown location of Melbourne CBD. Grand Hyatt Melbourne is located at Collins Street, a block west of Collins Place shopping mall.
Grand Hyatt Melbourne consists of 550 guest rooms, 80 Club rooms, and 25 premium suites.
Grand Hyatt Melbourne, more than thirty floors building in a fashionable part of the city center, the Grand Hyatt Melbourne offers the sort of sophistication this international chain is renowned for. In addition, all rooms and suites feature gorgeous marble bathrooms and sublime views of the parks, river, and inner-city streets from their floor-to-ceiling windows.
On top of that, the facilities are also world-class – from the massive gym to the unique rooftop tennis court. Besides, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants are nearby the property. The building itself is pretty ancient with a beautiful design.
The main entrance to Grand Hyatt Hotel on Russell St is appropriately quite grand, and there’s a less conspicuous back entrance nestled among a row of luxury storefronts on Collins St as well.
My room was pretty spacious and the design pretty modern. I was staying in Kingsize bed Premier Room with at 29 floors with a fantastic view. Having said that, The room with River View and was largely unremarkable, and while it fit my needs perfectly for a stay in which I wasn’t spending too much time in the room anyway, I must admit I felt like I was being brought down to earth after a hot streak of killer suite upgrades at Marriott hotels earlier during this trip.
In addition, The king bed faces outwards towards the windows and actually consists of two twin beds pushed together. Ordinarily, I might’ve found that a little annoying, but I was very exhausted by this point in the journey and so ended up sleeping very sweetly on all three nights.
My Final Verdict
Overall this was a decent stay but I’d still be tempted to look elsewhere when returning to Melbourne. The sports facilities are fantastic as is the location but the dark and noisy rooms detracted from the overall experience, as did the quality of the offerings in the club lounge.
