Hotel Review: JW Marriott Singapore South Beach
I have stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach on many occasions and personally, it is one of my favorite Marriott Bonvoy-participating properties in Singapore downtown. Not only that, this is a mixed development where commercial office and residential tower are linked together with JW Marriott Hotel.
Since my room was not on a particularly high floor, I did not get a good view of the Marina Bay area but since it is located at the corner of the building, the Premier Marina Bay View Rooms here do offer a rather expansive view of the area - you will be able to spot iconic landmarks and hotels like The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, the National Gallery Singapore, the War Memorial Park as well as the famous Raffles Hotel at the corner. Perhaps The Fullerton Hotel Singapore will be my next review?
The wardrobe here is actually hidden behind the highly reflective surfaces and mirror on the side of the bedroom. On the leftmost area is where you will find things like an electric water kettle, TWG tea bags as well as instant coffee (seriously, Nespresso should be the standard in all five-star hotels, what do you think?
Obviously, I am not impressed with freeze-dried coffee since they are disgusting so I am actually really glad that I do have access to the Executive Lounge where I can get proper espresso-based coffee. There is also a pretty decent wardrobe space for you to hang your clothes - I reckon you can put in four days worth of clothing (if you are sharing the room) fairly easily. You will also find an iron as well as an ironing board here so if you are here on a work trip, you do not worry about having to pay ridiculous prices for pressing.
I went to the 6th floor where this smaller pool give me panoramic views of the Singapore downtown such as Suntec City Singapore and the Central Business District (CBD). JW Marriott Singapore South Beach is an integrated development where South Beach Residences is located. This floor is unsheltered and if you want complete suntan, this is the perfect place to get your body tanned.
There is another swimming pool at level 18 and this is where you will find beautiful spaces where you can take in the sights of the surrounding area. This is also the level on which the swimming pool is located on so you will want to find a prime spot. At here, you can see the beautiful skyline of Marina Bay Sands Singapore. This floor is actually sheltered and you are unable to enjoy the suntan.
I booked my room via Klook and included free breakfast at the South Beach kitchen. There are a few time slots that are available for you to book as part of the safe measurements. The breakfast is quite decent and I love their Wanton Soup Noodles. Due to the COVID-19, all order is actually contactless and just inform the waiter what you want and they will serve to you.
To be honest, the reason why I booked JW Marriott South Beach because I really love the downtown view as I am not staying at South Beach Residences and I think the price is ok as less than $380 per night.
