How to travel during the pandemic?

The term "pandemic" is an outbreak of a disease that prevalent over a whole country or the world. Hence, during the global pandemic - COVID-19, how to travel? If you want to travel, it must an essential trip. Have you experienced traveling during COVID-19?

I was travelling during the COVID-19 outbreak from Singapore to London as I need to continue my study after the semester ends. During the COVID-19 outbreak, it is so difficult to book a flight as there's a limited flight per day, and also there are so many things you gotta prepare!

Here's my checklist

  • 3 layer surgical mask

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), you can buy this online from Lazada or Shoppe.

  • COVID-19 PCR test results, 72 hours before departure

  • Face-shield

I was booking Singapore Airline Economy Class in Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3. The Changi Airport looks like a ghost town as not many travellers except the airport staff.

Some of the retail shops were opening such as Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Burberry. Duty-Free like Shilla is also available.

My flight to London Heathrow International Airport was quite pleasant as it wasn't many travellers as I expected. Some of the SIA Cabin Crew was on PPE as they were interacting with travellers, for those did not interact with traveller, they didn't put on the PPE. I think it is necessary for all cabin crew to put on the PPE.

As soon as I touched down at London Heathrow International Airport, I was required to submit my PCR test and upon arrival, I need to do another PCR to make sure that I'm COVID-19 "FREE". Once I have completed the test, I was sent to the designated quarantine hotel for 14 days.

In my next article, I will be sharing my quarantine hotel experience with you guys, so do wait for my next article!

While I was quarantine, for the next two days, I have informed my test results is negative. Thank God! Soon, after 14 days of my quarantine, I finally arrived at my apartment and ready to meet my friends in London.

Well, this is my experience when I was travelling during the pandemic. The whole experience wasn't so bad but my tip is, prepare for your quarantine as you need to spend 14 days alone in the hotel room.
